Miami Food

Best brunch in Miami.
Better with a +1.

The brunches that are actually worth waking up early for, neighborhood by neighborhood.

Miami brunch is a whole sport. The right move depends on whether you want low-key, scene-y, waterfront, or instagrammable. Here is the Plus 1 ranked list, broken down by neighborhood.

Design District / Midtown

Mandolin Aegean Bistro

The benchmark. Open-air Greek/Turkish brunch in a converted house. Whipped feta, lamb gyro, strong coffee. Reservations a week out for prime Sunday slots. Bring a +1 you want to actually talk to.

Mister O1 Brunch

Pizza for brunch. Yes. The Star pizza with prosciutto and arugula remains the move. Quieter on Sunday than Saturday.

Wynwood

Coyo Taco (back room)

The taqueria up front is great. The secret bar in the back does an under-the-radar brunch menu on weekends. Margaritas at 11 a.m. are not just allowed, they are encouraged.

The Salty Donut

Not a sit-down brunch but the right second stop. Brown butter and salt or the seasonal special. Grab two and walk Wynwood Walls.

South Beach

Stiltsville Fish Bar

Waterfront, raw bar, ceviche, and brunch cocktails. The view does most of the work, but the food earns it.

Joe's Stone Crab

If stone crab is in season (October through May), Joe's brunch lunch is a Miami rite of passage. Show up at 11:30 for a manageable wait.

Coral Gables

Threefold Cafe

Australian-inspired, all-day brunch, and the avocado smash is genuinely good. Smaller and quieter than the South Beach spots.

Coconut Grove

Greenstreet Cafe

The Grove standby. Outdoor seating, eggs benedict, and a vibe that has not changed in 20 years. Perfect for a low-pressure first date.

How to make brunch a Plus 1 plan

Brunches are one of the highest-success first +1 plans. They are bounded (90 minutes, then it is over), public (no one is going to do anything weird), and gives you a built-in topic (what to order). Post the reservation on Plus 1 with the time, the spot, and what you are looking for (friendship, networking, dating), and let members request to join.

If brunch is not your speed, look at the Brickell happy hour guide for evening plans, or our weekend things to do in Miami for the bigger list.
