FAQ

Questions, answered.

Everything you might want to know about how Plus 1 works - and how to get the most out of it.

Getting started

What makes Plus 1 different from apps like Bumble, Tinder, or Hinge?

Most apps are focused mostly on dating, with tons of swiping, ghosting, and conversations that go nowhere.

Plus 1 puts the plans first - whether it’s a workout, brunch, networking mixer, or a night out. You post your plan, people request to join, and you approve who you want to meet. It’s the easiest way to make real connections fast, with less effort and more intention.

What is the minimum age to use Plus 1?

You must be 18 years or older to use the app.

Posting and joining plans

How do I make a plan?

Tap the plus icon at the bottom of the screen. Fill out the required details (marked with a red asterisk) and then hit Create Plan at the bottom.

Can I reuse or clone a plan I’ve already created?

Yes! After your plan ends, it will move to the Your Plans tab in the main menu. From there, just tap the clone icon to copy it. It will automatically populate in the Make a Plan screen - all you have to do is update the date and time, hit Create, and it will be live again on the Discover page.

How are the plans organized on the Discover page?

The Discover page shows plans based on your current location by default. You can pull down to refresh your location and nearby plans. Use the filter icon in the top right to sort by city, gender, or plan type.

How do I request to join someone’s plan?

Click on a plan to view the details, then tap Request to Join.

How many people can I approve for my plan?

You can approve one person from the list of requests because Plus 1 is focused on one-on-one connections.

However, if you follow someone and they follow you back, you’ll be able to invite multiple followers to join your plan - perfect for creating small group experiences.

Approvals, notifications, and matches

How will I know if someone approved me for their plan?

You’ll get an instant notification when you’re approved. You’ll also receive a reminder one hour before the meetup to confirm with the host.

What happens if I request to join someone but they already approved another person?

You’ll be notified and placed on the standby list. Plans stay live even after someone is approved in case that person cancels or becomes unresponsive, giving the host backup options so they don’t have to go solo.

What if someone approves me and then changes their mind?

If a host removes your approval, you’ll be notified right away so you’re not left wondering.

What happens if nobody is approving me for their plans?

Unfortunately, we can’t control who approves or declines - but if your requests aren’t being accepted, take matters into your own hands: be the one to post a plan.

Create something fun, unique, or attention-grabbing, and you’re much more likely to get requests. Think dinner at a hot new restaurant, a beach workout, or even F1 or Heat game tickets. If you lead the way, people will follow.

What if nobody is requesting to join my plans?

Sometimes it’s all about timing and visibility. As our community grows, your chances of getting more requests will go up.

There’s someone out there for every type of plan, whether it’s a beach day, museum trip, or just grabbing a smoothie. Keep posting, stay creative, and don’t be afraid to switch it up.

Safety, trust, and community

What safety measures are in place?
  • Every member is verified before posting or joining plans
  • Verification by linked social account (LinkedIn, Facebook, or Instagram) so members can vet each other
  • Members without a linked social are automatically prompted for real ID verification
  • Hosts can require real ID verification on a per-plan basis when creating a plan
  • Every plan is host-approved, with built-in report and block tools
  • We strongly recommend meeting in public places
How does the reliability score work?

After meeting up, both people can complete a short optional survey (4 quick yes/no questions) about how it went. Your reliability score is based on this feedback and helps ensure a trustworthy community.

How do I get kicked off Plus 1?

We take violations seriously. You can be removed for:

  • Illegal activity
  • Fake profiles (catfishing)
  • Threatening, abusive, or dangerous behavior

Outside of that, don’t be a jerk. Be respectful. We get that not everyone vibes, and some people just don’t click. If you don’t like someone, block them - or report them if something inappropriate happens.

Unlike other apps, we don’t use emotionless algorithms to decide who stays or goes. We review every report carefully and only take action when someone crosses clear community standards.
