Safety

Show up safely.

Plus 1 is built so members can meet strangers in real life without it feeling risky. Here's how.

The three pillars of safety on Plus 1

01

Verified profiles

Every member completes ID and photo verification before posting or joining plans. No anonymous accounts.

02

Host approval

The host of every plan controls who joins. No one shows up without explicit approval. You're never matched without intent.

03

Reporting & blocking

Block, report, or end a plan with one tap. We review every report within 24 hours and act fast on violations.

Community guidelines

Plus 1 is a place to meet people for real plans. These are the rules every member agrees to.

Do: Show up.

If you've been approved to join a plan, show up. No-shows are the fastest path to losing access.

Do: Be clear about intent.

Your profile signals whether you're looking for friendship, networking, or dating. Respect what others are looking for.

Do: Meet in public.

First plans should be in public places. Restaurants, beaches, events, classes. Avoid private residences until you have built trust.

Do: Tell a friend.

Share your plan with someone outside Plus 1. We make this easy with one-tap share-to-text.

×

Don't: Harass, threaten, or discriminate.

Zero tolerance. Harassment based on race, gender, sexuality, religion, or any identity will end your account permanently.

×

Don't: Solicit or sell.

Plus 1 is not for paid services, MLM pitches, or unsolicited business pitches. Networking is fine. Selling is not.

×

Don't: Misrepresent yourself.

Use a recent, real photo. Use your real name. Catfishing is grounds for immediate removal.

×

Don't: Take it off-platform too fast.

Keep early conversation on Plus 1 so we can help if anything goes sideways. Switching to text or Instagram before meeting is a yellow flag.

How to report or block

In the app

Tap the menu on any profile or plan and choose Report or Block. Reports are anonymous to the other member.

Block is instant. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours.

By email

For anything urgent that isn't yet a plan or member you've matched with, email our trust team directly.

What happens after a report

Our trust team reviews every report within 24 hours. Depending on severity, outcomes range from a warning, to a temporary suspension, to permanent removal. We follow up with the reporter to share what action was taken. We do not share your identity with the reported member.

In-person safety tips

  • Meet in public. First plans should always be public places with other people around.
  • Share your location. Share your live location with a trusted friend during the plan.
  • Trust your gut. If anything feels off, leave. You owe no one your continued attendance.
  • Have your own ride. Don't rely on the other person to get you home, especially on a first plan.
  • Watch your drink. Standard, but worth saying.
  • Use the in-app chat. Keep messages on Plus 1 before the plan so we can help if needed.

If you are in immediate danger

Call 911 (US emergency services) before anything else. After you are safe, report what happened to info@joinplus1.com so we can act on the account.

How we handle your data

Verification and safety data is encrypted and used only for trust purposes. We never sell member data. See our privacy policy for the full picture and our terms of service for the legal framework.
